Another spectacular garden located in Dorchester and near many holiday cottages is the Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park. This attraction has its own share of history and has been a surviving witness to many triumphant and looming events that shaped the England people know today. It was built in 1720 in honor of George Pitt. It boasts a Palladian style which was regarded as the most sophisticated in that era. Minimalism is the theme of Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park. The hallmark of the gardens is consisted of rolling turf, cautiously placed groups of trees, a lake and lakeside temple. The 35-acre of lovely formal gardens where constructed from 1915 and 1922 and inspired by the 18th century classic style.
